I resisted and was able to choose from many cars which were perfectly big enough. Glad I stood up to her!

We chose Alamo and I particularly liked the ability to use the kiosk, avoids long queues and avoids having the 'hard sell' from the desk clerks.

However the car supplied by Alamo was less than clean when we collected it. A wipe over with a cloth would not have done the interior any harm.

We were able to decline roadside assistance as we already had it through this site.

Very reassuring to have everything booked and insurances understood prior to travelling. Only complaint is with the service received from Alamo at the airport when picking the car up - sales assistant was determined to sell us an upgrade and questioned the validity of information given to us by USCarHire in order to try and get a sale. Needless to say we didn't purchase any additional services, nor upgrade the car as we were confident we had everything we needed.

Pick up was painless, no hard sell at the desk, did ask if we wanted additional insurance but we declined. was told to go to the pick up are for the car and they told us to choose a car in a certain area, which we did after looking at a few. Packed up car and exited with the car details being registered as you left the car park. Would use again without a doubt and will look at Alam if we hire elsewhere in the USA
