We said no to this, and very quickly they gave us the upgrade FOC for the duration of the trip. We liked it so much, that we will probably book the larger car next time.

I chose to do the fast collection system using the automated kiosks but when I went into the lot, I got given a car without the GPS I paid for.

Two observations: 1. There are no Alamo Save Time kiosks at Tampa Airport. 2. The member of staff on the Alamo counter, still tried to sell us a larger car (as ours was "tiny") and also enhanced roadside assistance, which we already had. They really don't like people with an all inclusive package, (as they don't get commission!!.) Overall from your point of view , excellent.

I used the online booking at home in the UK so no need to go to the Alamo desk, waiting in a queue or being asked would you like an upgrade. I entered my details at one of the new booking consoles, print out receipt then go collect the car. The car was exactly what I booked and had no problems while on hire. Will definitely be using US Car Hire next year.

All your tips and information regarding car hire in the USA was very useful and relevant. I would certainly use your site whenever I visit the USA as price, information and your guideline were excellent. As warned by your goodselves an assistant did try to get me to upgrade my vehicle at the desk but I declined and would you believe it I was actually offered a free upgrade when I went to collect the vehicle - so I was delighted I refused as recommended on your site and still got an upgrade without paying for it, So well done on your recommendations on your site
