If you register for Alamo on line. Don't waste time going to the Alamo kiosks. This will be the last time I do that. Again I wasted so much time trying to check in there as instructed that AGAIN I was left with very little choice. By the way none of ghe SUVs seem to have the pull over shelf over the 'boot' at the back.

The process was very easy and quick, couldn't use the self checking kiosk though as I had an English driving license, even though the instructions from the site stated this was possible. Not really an inconvenience though.

US Car Hire was efficient as we have found before. Our experience at the Alamo desk was not good. There was a strong attempt to sell us; firstly, additional breakdown cover which we had already purchased in advance. Secondly, a larger car which we did not want. Thirdly, to use Sun Pass which was explained as if it would save us money on road tolls - whereas it would cost us money to use it. Fourthly, we were told there would be a choice of vehicle, however, there was only one remaining. The vehicle was not "equivalent" to a Ford which was stated as the standard intermediate SUV. In our view the Jeep patriot is very "20th century" and inferior to a Ford.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Transaction was easy and quick. Expensive to hire Sat Nav though....in this day and age,I think it should be included in the price i.e free!. However, I continue to hire cars from Alamo through US Car Hire everytime I am in the US. Thank you!
