The first in 2011 for a rental in Orlando. This time it was a 2 week one way hire from Phoenix to San Francisco. The website was great as it made it clear what was included and the options available. The voucher concept was clear and ability to book securing the car and price without payment was a great comfort.

The guy behind the desk could have been a bit more helpful but besides that we were satisfied. It will be Alamo again next time.

The problem we constantly find is the delay picking up the car at the airport caused by the Alamo staff trying to upsell. We never upgrade to a bigger car or more insurance and appreciate the warning given by US car hire about this. However the delays caused by this upselling are very annoying. Is there anything that can be done about this?

The actual collection of the car was straight forward although the guy tried to talk us into an upgrade with we didn't need and didn't seem impressed than we declined.

I'm recommending USCarHire to all my friends and colleagues who are going to visit the US now. Ended up with a Dodge Journey from Alamo which I really enjoyed driving and eased any concerns about driving on the right in a left hand drive automatic vehicle. Just do it!
