Using the Alamo Save Time kiosks at the airport is fairly easy and can save you a lot of time as you will not have to queue up at the desk. This is a big bonus because you don't have deal with somebody at the Alamo desk trying to sell you unnecessary car upgrades and additional break down cover.

Choosing your own car was a large plus, as it enabled us to pick a car that would accommodate three full-size cases in the boot (the same cannot be said of the other cars in this category that we tried). The only negative comment I would make is that the Alamo rep at the desk tried to give me the impression that it would work out better for me financially if I were to purchase a tank of fuel from them and return the car empty (it wouldn’t have been). This however has nothing to do with USCarhire, who I would use again (as long as they remain competitive!)

Intermediate 4 Door (IDAR) Sanford International Airport on 07 Aug 2014 Customer rating: Customer name: Name withheld by request Vehicle supplied: Nissan Sentra Book a car at this location I liked the reassurance that all insurance was covered so we wouldn't be pressured at the airport and the price was competitive. I registered for Alamo SaveTime but the Alamo website messed up my booking: my wife's name appeared as the renter's name instead of mine. When we got to the rental center the SaveTime booth said there was an error and we had to queue up to see a person after all and there was a big queue. We had about 12 cars of about 6 different types to choose from so we picked one with a big boot, a Nissan Sentra. I was impressed with the car for an Intermediate; we had 4 suitcases plus hand luggage in the boot.

I could not use the kiosk because my maiden name is on my driverslicence and on the rental agreemt. My creditcard uses the name of my husband. Car was perfect! No problems.

Intermediate 4 Door (IDAR) Miami International Airport (MIA) on 26 Jul 2014 Customer rating: Customer name: Name withheld by request Vehicle supplied: Hunday Elantra Book a car at this location I preregister, and when I check in at the Kiosk, I have to fill up again some of the same things that I have previously provided on the preregistration, like the drivers licence information of the main driver and the additional driver. While it only took me few additional minutes this I think is an area of opportunity to expedite check in and improve the overall service. Hope my comments are useful.

Arriving try to pressure you to choose a high-end vehicle, but we declined as we had been warned that this would happen. Very well.

Intermediate 4 Door (IDAR) Las Vegas Airport (LAS) on 04 Jul 2014 Customer rating: Customer name: Name withheld by request Vehicle supplied: KIA Soul Book a car at this location I will continue to use US Carhire and Alamo on trips to the USA as it is so hassle free. This time I had a wide choice of cars from a VW Beetle to a Fiat 500L and various models in between. This time I chose a KIA Soul. The clerk at the desk was very friendly and didn't push any add-ons when I explained that I didn't need a larger car and already had additional breakdown cover. Returning the car was equally straight forward and the return clerk was very pleasant. So in summary, another great experience! Thanks again!

Your name and name or initials on credit card have to be exactly the same or card is refused and you have to go to desk anyway.
