Florida Guide > Travelling
Regarded as one of Europe’s finest golf courses and located a short trip from Barcelona, the PGA Catalunya is an ideal spot to enjoy a day trip out of the city and play nine or 18 holes.
Recently voted one of the top 100 golf courses in the world, the PGA Catalunya has previously hosted the Spanish Open, and is located 45 minutes to the north of Barcelona where this wonderful course is sheltered by the Girona Mountains. The landscape is beautiful, and the golf will provide a challenge to players of all abilities through the five tee-off points available at every hole. This course is a must for golf fans looking to enjoy a few rounds in a peaceful location. Once you’ve finished, the recently opened Catalunya Resort Club House is the perfect place to head to for a relaxing drink and a chat about the day. The Club House has an excellent bistro and restaurant, and a function room available for events and social occasions.
If you stay in the city then let yourself be whisked away on one of the most romantic trips Barcelona has to offer: an enchanted carriage ride through the beautiful Penedès region of Barcelona.
Famous for its wine, this idyllic setting is the perfect location for a picturesque carriage ride. This outing will take you out of the gentle slopes of Barcelona, deep into the vineyards of the Penedès, and give you the chance to sample some of the region’s famous wines. A heavenly dinner will then be prepared for you to enjoy as the sun sets over the distant hills; the perfect end to the perfect day. This is a ride fit for royalty and a fairytale day out that will delight all true romantics.
There are some people who will do anything for the perfect glass of wine, including heading to the bottom of the sea.
The Underwater Wine Treasure Dive is one of the more unusual activities in Barcelona and will be a favourite for divers and wine lovers alike. Underwater wineries are few and far between, and Barcelona presents visitors with the unique opportunity to discover one of the finest examples in Europe. A great trip, especially for couples, it includes an interesting history of underwater wine storing, a guide to the aquatic wine cellar, a chance to explore the magical underwater landscape and, of course, a glass or two of the fantastic, unusual wines to enjoy with your evening meal.
