Relaxing in the Pool

After our visit to Shark Reef the girls and Grandad decided they wanted to go to the Wave Pool. At the very edge of this little ones with their parents can paddle but of course the girls wanted to spend time further in bobbing about in the waves and waiting for the siren to blast and the giant waves to come whilst Mom and I sat watching them and reading our books.
The girls have been doing this since they were very young when they used to have to cling to Grandad, I have always felt this is a safe area with eagle eyed lifeguards on either side of the pool.
When it looked as though they were going to be in the Waves for some time Mom and I decided to have a stroll around the Park and we stopped for a while at Ketchakiddee Creek which really is now a delight for small children. You can find it on the left of Mount Mayday on the other side of Castaway Creek.
For those with small babies that require the shade there are wooden covered areas where they can set up “home” for the day, these are quite spacious with room for buggies and chairs but it is a case of first come first served to get these.
There are about ten different activities as well as really fun showers for little ones here and the activities are restricted to children under 48 inches tall. There are small slides with parents at the top to put the children on and at the bottom to catch them. My favourite was the one where various wooden animals including a fish and tortoise squirted the children with water as they came down the slides only for them to run immediately back to the top to have another go!
The little ones can also enjoy crawling through tubes as well as playing in the waterfalls. It is also great for their parents who can safely go around with their children whilst enjoying the sun as well as cooling down in the water. As in other areas of the Park there are always lifeguards on duty here.
When we returned to our loungers we found the other three had just come out of the Waves looking very wrinkly and starving so we headed off to get something to eat.
We went as usual to Leaning Towers which has a good selection of quick service American food as well as a spacious seating area with fans.
More of this in Part 5.
