The Portuguese took their time in Goa, profiting from the spice trade for almost 500 years until they finally relinquished the colony to India in 1961. A few years later the hippies arrived. Their lifestyle involved a sarong, a spliff, a hammock, and several ideas about spirituality. Artists were also drawn to the area by the light, while the ravers came for the trance parties.
Spice plantation is the place where you can stop for some fun and activities. The moment you start exploring the spice garden, you will find yourself amidst the aroma of a variety of spices. You will enjoy the talks to learn how various spices, which we easily get to buy in the shops are grown. The amazing idea of the spice plantation garden is unique and intriguing.
Exploring the garden will be followed by a delicious Goa style buffet both veg and non-veg. The idea itself is superb, sitting in a garden full of spices and eating a delicious lunch. There are other activities too like an elephant safari. These activities are not included in the entrance cost but if you want you can go on one at extra cost.
The aura of the place is completely unparalleled to anywhere else. It has religious elements and the Portuguese style architecture is magnificent. The setting is just so grand that it can’t be captured in a camera. You have to live the moment when you are at the Basilica of Bom Jesus. The remains of St. Francis Xavier lie here which attracts the attention of people from around the world.
If you are a person who loves the Sea, Boats and adventure then you must visit one of the most beautiful place of Goa that is Grand Island. Grand Island is a perfect combination of nature’s lovers and adventure seekers. Your journey to Goa will be not completed if you don’t visit Grand Island.
The adventurous part of the trip begins when you are about to reach Grande Island. That is when you are about to reach your destination the guides will stop the boat for a while and they will provide you with fishing ropes so that you can enjoy fishing. For people who love fishing as their hobby, this is a plus point for them. If you are not really interested then perhaps give this a miss.
If you are an expert in fishing you will be fortunate to catch some. In case if you are not able to catch fish at least you will get a valuable experience of fishing with your friends or family in the middle of the Arabian Sea.
