A couple of my recent guests have expressed surprise that Universal offer a character breakfast; well they do!
This is held in the Cafe La Bamba from 8 a. m. to 10 a. m. every morning.
The characters you will meet (as I write) are our friends from Despicable Me and also Hop. These are the latest thing so are bound to be popular.
Reservations are required and you will also need to re confirm the day before. The cost is an eye watering $26. 99 for adults and $10. 99 for children and this includes a rather useful early entry to Shrek and Despicable Me (where the longest queues are) Call 407 224 7554
While thinking about the Universal experience, I thought I might add some others you may not be aware of.
Lets go to one of my favourite parks and that is the wonderful Seaworld. They have Elmo and friends to greet you. Elmo' s friends are Big Bird, Ernie, Grover and Cookie Monster. The breakfast is served buffet style and costs $16. 95 per adult and $14. 95 for a child. 888 800 5447
The same characters are at The Busch Gardens special breakfast and this is held by the Sesame Street Safari of Fun. After the rather longer drive to Busch you will all be good and hungry for this feast!
Now let us go upmarket and wing our way to Gaylord Palms (that imposing hotel complex on Osceola Parkway) They have a Shrek breakfast at the weekend only from 8 a. m. to 10. 30 a. m.
The cost of this one is $29 95 for an adult and $19. 95 for a child. The food is what you might expect from this establishment and the biggest thrill for most is the chocolate fountain.
When making your choice (for you surely will not do them all) I think the tipping point will be to ask your self what each child' s favourite characters are. This will be the biggest part of the experience for them.
Top Tip, as far as we Brits are concerned we are all waking early for the first few days due to the time change so why not go with it and schedule your meal for early on in your holiday.
