One place that is a must for anyone visiting Orlando Florida is Diwntown Disney. This is located within the Disney ground and is a large Disney themed village full of shops, restaurants, clubs and much more.
The highlight of Downtown Disney for me is by far the Disney Store. This massive shop features a never ending amount of rooms which stock a huge variety of clothing, home ware, jewellery, souvenirs - you name it, they have it! This is the perfect place to pick up souvenirs for yourself, your family or your friends at home.
Another shop which you should not miss is Goofy' s Candy Store. This shop is full to the brim of your favourite sweet treats, which again can be perfect gifts to take home. However, you MUST try one of their toffee apples which is made in front if you to your order. You collect an order slip and tick which toppings you would like to place on your apples; for example, milk/white/dark chocolate, sprinkles, chocolate chips, sauces etc. They also do this for waffles, marshmallow, nougat and much more.
There is also a Christmas store which we have bought most of our Christmas decorations for our house from - they may be expensive but they are well worth it!
When considering the restaurants, there is a wide range of places available. If you want something small the Earl of Sandwich is perfect - I highly recommend the meatball sub! For a meal with an experience, the Rainforest Cafe or the newer dinosaur themed restaurant are sure to deliver.
The Rainforest Café is a place which will amaze and interest every person, regardless of their age or interests. The restaurant is designed to look as if you are sitting in a rainforest, with moving, life-size animals, such as monkeys and lions to keep you company during your meal. Every so often you will also experience a tropical storm as the thunder crashes, the animals go mad and the rain pours. Or if you are looking for something quick, there is of course the typical and expected fast food restaurants including McDonalds.
Another feature of Downtown Disney which makes a visit worthwhile is the Lego creations which are featured in and around the lake. There are life-size statutes of families, dog walkers etc. but the most impressive is the large Loch Ness Monster which is poised perfectly in the lake.
