Hire Options and Insurances

Our car hire includes items such as insurance, taxes and surcharges with the exception of Personal Insurance which should already be included in your own travel insurance. This means there are no extras to pay when you pick up the car (other than underage charges, and a tank of fuel if on the Silver Basic Inclusive or Silver Inclusive option with Alamo or National).

We offer three fully inclusive packages. Note, there are some slight differences for Prestige Cars, but any differences are highlighted on the appropriate booking pages for these.

For USA Bookings:

Silver Basic Inclusive

  • 1 driver (up to 4 drivers in California only).
  • Rental with unlimited mileage.
  • Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) / Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) - This covers damage to the car.
  • Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) up to $1M cover - This covers damage and injuries to 3rd Parties.
  • Uninsured / Under-insured Motorist Protection (UMP) - This covers the eventuality that an uninsured driver is involved in an incident with you.
  • All taxes and airport fees.
  • The tank will be full on collection. If you return empty you will be charged for the tank of fuel on return of the car. If you select Alamo or National, and return the car full then you will not be charged.
  • Save Time at the desk with Alamo and National Kiosks (for bookings of 30 days or less).

Silver Inclusive

  • 1 or 2 drivers - email us for details (up to 4 drivers in California only).

  • Initial tank of gas included in price *. The tank will be full on collection and you return empty.

All our car hire is fully inclusive - you have nothing to pay on arrival. **

* In downtown Manhattan locations, the Gold option with Alamo and National does not include the cost of the initial tank of gas.

** For collections from Chicago O'Hare Airport only, a CFC charge is payable locally at the desk on arrival. Contact us for an estimate of this if you are affected.

On the Silver Options, what is the approximate cost of a tank of fuel?

  • If you opt to return the car empty, this can vary depending on the size of car, and the current average cost of fuel on the day. Alamo and National charge the actual fuel cost at the time charged, whereas other suppliers mark up the fuel cost, sometimes to around double the pump price. We recommend you return the car full to avoid the refuelling charge.

This can have a substantial effect on the cost of your car hire, meaning you can be paying up to £300 to £500 extra on arrival for a 14 night stay! If you book our fully inclusive car hire these additional expenses are automatically included and you will be required to pay nothing extra on arrival.
