On all roads heading to the famous Disney Arch Entrance, and indeed, throughout the central Orlando/Kissimmee area, you will see large 15 and 12 seater minivans packed with extended families or groups of friends. Whilst this can be a cost effective and fun way to travel around it may not offer the flexibility that everyone in the party wants or desires.
When I have been sharing a villa with friends, we have rented 2 seven seater vehicles, one for each family, nfor the whole two week period. Then we have rented another small car for a week towards the end of the holiday/vacation. This has proved such a smart move, and enhanced the whole vacation experience. The men and boys in my family for some reason don't enjoy spending days at Outlet Malls or The Mall at Millennia, once they have bagged a couple of Abercrombie and Fitch t-shirts and hoodies they are done. By having two vehicles the boys go off and do their thing, like trekking in the Lake Louise State Park whereas the girls go for a pedicure and then some gentle, relaxing, retail therapy. This sounds stereotypical, but that's just how it is.
There is a finite number of 12 and 15 seater vehicles to rent or hire, so if you find that there is no availability then don't be alarmed - renting multiple vehicles can actually add to your enjoyment and is surprisingly cost effective. Don't forget that taxi rides come at a price so in fact you may well be saving $$$ - even if the smaller car is a convertible! The boys were more than happy to head for the lakes in a Mustang! !

I personally find that driving and parking a seven seater vehicle or smaller is far easier and more luxurious than the large 12 and 15 seater minivans. Whatever vehicle(s) you decide to rent enjoy the driving, its fun.
