A Visit to Main Street Magic Kingdom Part 2 - Orlando / Florida Guide

On the far corner right hand corner of Main Street as you head towards Cinderella’s Castle you can get ice creams at the Plaza these can be very welcome in the heat of the day. There is a very nice seating area in front of the parlour and it usually possible to get seats here and you often see parents enjoying their ice creams whilst little ones either sleep in their buggies or on their parent’s laps.
Casey’s corner is on the opposite corner of Main Street and again there is a good outdoor seating area where you can enjoy your Hot Dogs or cold drinks. It is worth noting that near here is the Baby Centre and First Aid post should you need them.
If you need anything more substantial just around the corner is the Crystal Palace but although you might be lucky and get a cancellation it is always best to make a reservation in advance of your visit.
The Crystal Palace is home to the very popular Character Meals where Winnie the Pooh and friends invite the visitors to enjoy their buffet whilst they mingle with the guests and give them plenty of photo opportunities.
You can book your meal for either Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner and the prices vary for each session children under 3 are usually free whilst children 3 to 9 years pay a lesser charge than everyone else over 10 years old.
The breakfast food is traditional American breakfast food, Lunch offers a great variety and caters for all tastes whilst Dinner is gourmet cooking. If you do decide to book Dinner it is best to avoid the first couple of days of your holiday when little ones tend to nod off early evening and may end up sleeping at the table!
If you simply prefer to just snack on popcorn you will find a trolley serving this on the bridge.
At the end of Main Street Cinderella’s Castle comes into view and it has a stage at the front that they put on shows at different times during the day. Make sure you get a Magic Kingdom guide and map when you enter the Park and this will show you the times of the shows. Try to get there in advance of the show time and you are likely to get a good view at the front. If you are further back when the show starts you can always put the little ones on your shoulders for a better view.
There are lots of Disney characters doing song and dance routines on the stage and the children are delighted to see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald Duck up close as well as the Disney Princesses.
