All vehicles have air-conditioning, power steering and automatic transmission.

When you order the car you can not specify a make, model or colour, but when you get to the rental desk you can make a request which they will endeavor to accommodate provided they have the vehicle in stock.

Alamo have their 'Choice Locations' product. This is available at most airports and there is no extra cost. These locations allow you to choose the car you like best from the parking lot, within the category you have booked. Each car has the key in, so you just get in and go.

Outside Florida, any vehicle above the Full Size class is only available on request. Once your booking has been made, we have to wait for the rental company to confirm availability before your voucher can be issued. We cannot guarantee availability of these vehicles without a minimum of 48 hours notice. At busy periods in Florida e.g. Christmas and Easter, certain of the larger vehicles are only available on request in Florida due to limited availability.

Yes, you can upgrade or change to a different car type on collection (subject to availability), but we strongly advise against this. Doing thing will almost certainly result in a fairly costly local charge by the car rental company even if the car you change to is cheaper had you booked through ourselves initially.

As car models can vary, as can the amount and size of luggage a typical family will have, it is not possible for us to guarantee your luggage will fit in to any specific vehicle category. Depending on the number of passengers and size and type of luggage, it might be necessary to make special arrangements for your initial journey from the airport, such as using a taxi or renting an additional car for 1 day for the airport journey. Sometimes it is advisable to book a car that seats more passengers than you have in your party in order to gain more luggage space, if each passenger has a larger case.

If you want to read accounts of how other regular customers have managed with their luggage, and the cars they have typically been allocated, then please visit our car hire forum. Feel free to ask questions so you can hear first hand accounts and advice from others.

Some of the SUVs have 4WD but many are 2WD. It is not possible to guarantee that the car will have 4WD so any requests for this can not be made. When you collect your car you can make your request to the staff member at the desk so they know your preference when allocating your car. Note, if the staff member on the desk offers you a larger car category that has 4WD then any extra charges for this are outside of our control.
The Manager''s Special (or Wild Card) car type, which is typically an option from Dollar or Thrifty, can be any type of car allocated at random at the time of collection. The rental rate is usually lower than other car types, and the car type offered can be anything from a small basic car up to a large luxury vehicle.  You may be allocated either an electric or gas (petrol) car. The EV / Gas option means you could be allocated an electric or a gas vehicle on collection. You do not get a choice, you must accept what you are offered. The EV option will mean you will be allocated an electric vehicle upon collection. The car will accommodate at least 4 passengers and a large or 2 small cases. If you are allocated a car that you are not happy with, a charge will be made to change to any other car type, so only book this car type if you are willing to accept whatever is offered
