Which company do you use for car hire?

  • We use Dollar, Alamo and National. Which one you choose is up to you.

What are the main differences between the various suppliers?

  • We offer several suppliers to give you the greatest choice possible. We only deal with the most reputable suppliers in the USA. In some regions one supplier maybe cheaper than another. In other regions a different supplier may be cheaper.

Here are some general differences that you can take in to account when selecting your supplier:

On our Silver Inclusive option, Alamo and National allow 2 drivers. Dollar allow 1 driver. In California, Alamo and National allow up to 9 drivers on our Silver option.

On our Gold Inclusive option, Dollar allow unlimited drivers. Alamo allow up to 9 drivers.

On our Silver Inclusive Option, Dollar, National and Alamo provide cars with a full tank and you must return empty and pay the supplier for a tank of fuel. Alamo and National charge around the current pump price for their tank of fuel on Silver. Dollar charge up to double the current pump price.

Note: For collections from 1st April 2012, the Alamo Silver option allows you to return the car with a full tank thus avoiding the refueling cost.

On the Gold option, all suppliers provide the car with a full tank and you take back empty at the end. You then do NOT pay the supplier for the tank since this is included in the rental price. The only exception is rentals from New York where the Gold option with Alamo and National does not include the cost of the initial tank of fuel.

With Dollar we can add your Dollar Express ID to your voucher so you can avoid the queues when collecting your car. Alamo provides a Fast Track service to speed up your car collection.

On collection of the car, Alamo generally allow you to choose the car you like the look of (from the category booked) from the parking lot. The other suppliers give you a car of their choice.

Dollar, Alamo and National have a minimum age of 21, with a local surcharge of between $20 - $25 per day per driver age 21-24. Alamo has a Young Drivers Package (YDP) to save young drivers a lot of money on the usual surcharge when collecting the car.
